Was a nice walk. We enjoyed the views of the forest but it was heavily touristed….yes me included (I blame my wife though). Not hard if you’re in ok shape. Full review by rbrucepsu

We did it ourselves but you can book a guide if really want

We plan to do the self guided walk. Can we just show up whenever and pay at the entrance to the bridges? I see on line if you purchase in advance you have to commit to a time slot and they are all in the afternoon. We want to do morning. We also don't want to go with a tour because we will be there for photography and don't want to be rushed, and we would be no matter the pace of the guide.

I am sure you can go self guided as people passed us on our guided tour. We did not feel rushed by the guide and my view is that we saw a lot more as the guide spotted small creatures like bats, spiders praying mantis that we would have missed. We had around 3 hours.

Yes, my wife also needs to rest during walks due to a knee problem. There are benches and places to sit and rest along the way.
