Shiv Kumar Gautam, one of the assailants who shot dead Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique on 12 October and was arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich, has revealed shocking details to Mumbai Police on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s involvement in the incident.

Investigations reveal both Baba Siddique and his son Zeeshan were potential targets for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A total of 23 arrests have been made in the case.

Shivkumar Gautham, the main shooter involved in the murder of veteran Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique told police that Lawrence Bishnoi gang wanted either the leader or his son Zeeshan killed. Police arrested Gautam and four others on Sunday and they have been remanded to police custody for a week.

Mumbai: In a major breakthrough, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Mumbai Police have arrested the primary suspect in the Baba Siddique murder case in Bahraich while he was attempting to flee to Nepal.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, in collaboration with the Mumbai crime branch, apprehended the alleged gunman, Shiv Kumar, and four accomplices in connection with the murder of former Maharashtra minister Ziauddin Baba Siddique.

Baba Siddique, aged 66, was fatally shot by three assailants near his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra, Mumbai, on October 12. He suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital,

In a joint operation with Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), a team from the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested shooter in the Baba Siddique murder case along with four other accused from Nanpara in UP's Bahraich on Sunday.

Four men arrested by UP STF for aiding the escape of a murder suspect to Nepal were previously charged with molesting a 15-year-old girl in Bahraich. The men were accused of publicly molesting the girl during a Muharram procession.
