Hyundai Mobis has introduced a Kia EV9 equipped with a holographic head-up display. It uses a projector and special film to display images and video on the windshield. Pre-development wrapped up last year and mass production could begin as early as 2027.

This isn’t the first time that BMW has teased the new heads-up display called BMW Panoramic iDrive. The company showed off a version of it at CES 2023 in the iVision Dee concept, and it’s all part of the new platform called BMW Operating System X.

Hyundai Mobis showed off a holographic windshield display that spans the full width of the window, and it looks like a big upgrade over traditional car HUDs.

Hyundai Mobis unveiled a full-windshield holographic display at CES 2025, allowing critical information to be projected onto the windshield. The commercialization of this technology is expected by 2027.
