Richmond Mayor Danny Avula provided an update in the morning on Tuesday on the city's effort to restore a city water treatment plant that experienced a malfunction after a power outage, causing a boil water advisory and water service disruptions for others.

Many residents and businesses in Richmond have no water this morning after a boil water advisory was issued on Monday.

As of 8 AM two pumps were working and currently filling the reservoir but water pressure is expected back until this afternoon.

The city of Richmond, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health, issued an immediate boil water advisory on Monday, urging all residents to conserve water and boil it before consumption until further notice.
