Google has successfully overturned a €1.5 billion antitrust fine it was handed by the European Commission in 2019.

Google won a legal challenge Wednesday against a €1.49 billion ($1.66 billion) antitrust fine from the European Union, while chipmaker Qualcomm failed to repeal a penalty.

Google fine from the EU overturned, with the Court ruling that the European Commission failed to consider all relevant factors.

Antitrust officials had imposed the fine over how the search giant might have restricted the way that some websites displayed ads sold by its rivals.
