More than 33,000 union workers are voting Thursday on a contract deal reached by Boeing and union leadership last weekend.

Boeing’s most sizeable Texas footprint is in San Antonio, where it’s the area’s largest aerospace employer. Other key locations are in Plano, Irving and Dallas.

According to a post from IAM District 751 President Jon Holden, 94% voted to reject the contract and 96% voted to strike. Union rules required a vote of more than two-thirds to authorize a walkout.

Of the voting members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Union, 94.6% rejected Boeing’s proposed contract, with 96% voting to strike Thursday. The deal proposed by Boeing included 25% raises over four years and a promise that the company’s next new airplane would be built in Washington.
