The dismembered body of a 29-year-old woman was found stored in a refrigerator at a house in Malleswaram area of Bengaluru on Saturday. According to the police, the body of the victim, Mahalakshmi, was chopped into over 30 pieces,

Upon arriving at the scene in Bengaluru, police officers forced entry into the first-floor apartment of the three-storied building and found the body stuffed in fridge.

Bengaluru police on September 21 discovered a dismembered woman's body stored in a refrigerator in Vyalikaval's Malleswara area. The victim, identified as 29-year-old Mahalakshmi, is believed to have been murdered.

The police said it appears that the body parts have been kept inside the refrigerator for around 2-3 days. The area near the crime scene has been sealed and further investigation is underway.

The reason for the killing is still unknown, but police suspect it to be a murder that happened about a week ago. An investigation has been launched into the matter

The deceased woman hailed from West Bengal or Chhattisgarh. The incident came to light after her neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the victim's house for two days and informed her relatives.
