The Federal Communications Commission issued a $6 million fine to an individual who used a President Biden-like voice to urge New Hampshire Democrats to skip presidential primary voting.

The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday finalized a $6 million fine for a political consultant over fake robocalls that mimicked President Joe Biden's voice, urging New Hampshire voters not to vote in that state's Democratic primary.

The FCC first proposed the fine in May. In February, Kramer admitted to creating the robocall operation. A former consultant for Minnesota congressman and presidential candidate Dean Phillips, Kramer said the calls were created as a way to spell out the dangers of AI content in political campaigns.

The fine follows a months-long investigation led by the FCC Enforcement Bureau, the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force, and the New Hampshire Department of Justice.
