Congress is investigating the lower-than-expected voter turnout in the Wayanad byelection, where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is making her electoral debut.

Voting commenced at 1,354 polling stations in the hilly Wayanad constituency with early reports from the Election Commission indicating a turnout of 6.96 percent within the first hour.
