A backcountry skier died in an avalanche near Red Mountain Pass on Tuesday. That's according to the experts from the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, who said the slide happened on Red Mountain Number 3.

A backcountry skier was killed Tuesday after being caught in an avalanche near Red Mountain Pass in southwestern Colorado. The avalanche happened on a northwest-facing slope at an elevation of around 11,300 feet in an area known locally as Bollywood, according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center .

This incident happened on Jan. 7th on Red Mountain number 3, east of Telluride, which is locally known as Bollywood. The avalanche occurred on a northwest-facing slope around 11,300 feet.
